Error: "One or more incompatible modules..." or “win32k.sys”

Cause:

The "One or more incompatible modules..." is an error message in INCTEL terminal server software and is caused by a file version mismatch between Microsoft Windows system files and INCTEL software. You may receive this error message if any of the following are true:

 -A Windows system file is incompatible or untested

-INCTEL Terminal Server software is not current

If Microsoft Windows has recently released an update package, a corresponding INCTEL software update may be available or in development.

Resolution:

To resolve this issue, update your INCTEL Terminal Server software to latest version available.

 

Workaround:

If your INCTEL Terminal Server software and Microsoft Windows operating system are up-to-date and you are still receiving this message you may need to make the following change(s) to remove this error message and/or achieve proper functionality:

Warning:

Removing Windows Updates, Hotfixes, or Security Updates could potentially affect Windows functionality, security, or stability.

Remove most recent Windows update

1.      Click Start, and then Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.

2.      Verify that the Show updates option is selected.

3.      In the Sort by: drop down, select Date Last Used.

4.      Locate the latest update(s), hotfix(es), and/or security update(s), select them and the click Remove.

More Information:

In many cases it is advisable to disregard the error message until an INCTEL software update is released, without any impact on system functionality.

Removal procedure - Security Update for Windows

Overview:

The below listed procedure will assist you in the removal of Microsoft® installed patches on which have been placed on an INCTEL host computer. This Security Update may have resulted in a warning message in connection with our INCTEL Network Series and X-Series solutions.

In some cases an update may cause the following warning message. Once the update is removed implemented the error screen should no reoccur. Please note the uninstall is a temporary measure and should be corrected in the next INCTEL update.

 

Uninstall Process:

Please read through the following steps to implement:

Using Start _ Control Panel _ Add or Remove Programs option, you have the possibility to remove

installed updates which effect the operation of your system in an unwanted fashion or may be causing the

warning window see above. Click the checkbox located in the Upper-Middle area of the screen to activate

“Show Updates”

Scroll down to and select the listing which displays the Security Update for Windows KBxxxxx

 

 

Click on “Remove” to begin the removal process, the following screen will be displayed;

To continue, click “Next”

 

The following screen will display the actions currently being carried out.

 

Click on “Finish” to complete the removal process and proceed to restart your machine.

If you do not wish to restart your machine at this time, click in the Checkbox “Do not restart now”

 

This completes the Security Update removal process.
